QUICK QUESTION ABOUT SEATTLE!

In less than 2 weeks I am taking the Empire Builder from Chicago to Seattle. My mother and I are going to Alaska too. Our plan was to catch a cab from the station to the airport and head off to Fairbanks.

But, Alaska Airlines changed our flight time recently and it will give us 3-4 hours to explore Seattle. We're hoping to head up to the Space Needle on the above mentioned bus/trolley.

The question is... can we store our bags once we arrive in Seattle... let's say from 10:20AM arrival to maybe when we come back around 3-4PM?

Is there any cost?

(we're going sleeper)

The Amtrak website lists Seattle's checked baggage hours as 6:30am-8pm daily. I believe bags you have already checked on the incoming Empire Builder may be left in Seattle until you are ready to pick them up.

Additional carry-on luggage may be checked in the depot for an additional fee of about $2/bag, at the same checked baggage counter.

Check at the ticket counter (or with your cabin attendant) -- if a train has just arrived when you go to get your bags, there may not be anybody in the checked baggage area to let you get your luggage. That's happened to us. But it doesn't take long for them to come back.
