Does anyone just want to provide a bunch of info about this train for me?

My family is looking to head up to Boston and the Cape for a week or so and we're looking to take the train back from Boston.

What's the deal with sleeping car accomodations out of Boston? Do you have to be in coach until you connect with the other of the train in Albany?

Also, we're looking to connect with the Texas Eagle in Chicago as it leaves at 3 PM and the LSL arrives at 9 AM. Will we more than likely make the connection or is the LSL a Sunset Limited type train?

Uncle Buck --
LSL runs a stub train from Boston to Albany. It is all coach. You transfer to the portion of the LSL that originates in NYC in Albany. Sleeper cars originate out of NYC. Not really a problem because of schedule which gets you into sleeper long before bedtime.
I have taken this train twice a year for several years and it is usually on time into Chicago or within a few minutes. (Eastbound is a whole different story.) I have never missed my connection with the Southwest Chief which also leaves around 3 PM.

Uncle Buck,
I ride this from train several times a year. I get business class out of Boston. I find it worth the extra room.
Be sure to take advantage of the Acela Lounge in the Boston station.
I take the LSL limited from Cleveland to Chicago several times a year also. While the LSL might be late, I have not yet missed a connection to the Eagle or Zephyr.
