I'm in Barstow!- and I'll be here for 1 day, does anyone know if the Barstow BNSF yard is open to the Public? They have a visitor center, but I dont think they had Railfans in mind when they made that, I went there earlyer today, and I seen 2 wrecked Fright Locomotives, and alot of Trains, it look like it was all a public road, but before I go back I want to be sure, any way, heres some pictures:

Barstow Yard is most definitely not open to the public. Your best spot in Barstow for train-watching & photography is the old Santa Fe depot/Harvey House & it looks like you've already been there.

If you want to get out of Barstow, go a little east to Daggett, where the UP leaves its own rails to use the BNSF. Plenty of open area for photography there.
