First I want to thank all who have helped me though my trip planning, all set and just a little over a week to go.

Now I DO have one more question, is there a place on a Viewliner when you first get on to store luggage. I recall a few years ago on a Superliner, there was a bin(area) just as you got on for carry-on luggage. Is there such a place on the Viewliner?

thanks ML

In a Viewliner sleeping car or coach car? I think the only luggage storage in the sleeping cars is in the rooms themselves, and I don't believe there is a specific area in the coaches, just the overhead racks.

Because the Viewliner is a single-level car, there is space atop the hallway (but within your room) for storage of luggage. While more secure, it is hardly as convenient as the Lower Level storage area in a Superliner Sleeper.

But as I travel about today, I wonder whatever happened to my old adiage that served me well during some "heavy travel' years I had early (1970's) in my railroad carreer:

"If you can't carry it, don't bring it".
