So are lounge cars back on the Sunset Limited? I thought they were permanently pulled off that route. But over the weekend, I was on 22/322/422 between Springfield, IL and Chicago... and was talking to someone who was on the 422 section of the train who got on in LA, who said that when 422 was part of 2, it had a lounge car.

Just curious because I am going to Yuma the second week of January and sorta wanted to know if I'd have the lounge car or be stuck to my roomette and the snack coach.

Yeah they've been back for awhile all were redone at Beech Grove and have the new tables on the upper level. You have a 99% chance of getting one on your trip. Each of the Sunset sets has one, and the timekeeping is improving too. This new guy at UP does know how to run a railroad.

I had a redone observation car on my trip from LA to San Antonio in August. It was very nice.
