Yes Amtrak will be having special turkey dinners on Thanksgiving ala Wolfgang Puck lol. The menu will be special so no regular menu. It may be simplified but I can assure you it will be as close to home cooking as you can get.

BTW Too bad Amtrak can't cook up a meal as portrayed in the OP's photo(:-

Here's a quote from Alexander Kummant's message to employees in the November isue of Amtrak Ink

quote:
....We are also preparing
to serve our passengers more than seven tons
of turkey and 15,000 slices of pumpkin pie in our
dining cars.

Actually, they are serving their regular menu as well. It's just that in place of the country fried steak (chef special) they are serving a turkey dinner.

I was on the Chief this past Saturday (11/18/06)and they indeed had the Turkey dinner and Pumpkin Pie desert as specials. Although I didn't try it, my dining companions said it was pretty good.

On the Zephyr 11/19 and 11/20 they were serving Turkey and Pumpkin Pie. It was really good; I had it both days.
