Any chance Amtrak will ever bring back a Floridian type service?

NO

No, because there is no acceptable direct routing left, host railroad-wise. What is possible is a return of the Sunset Limited E. of NOL, with the CONO connecting with it.

The chances are pretty slim but there are a couple of route possibilities where the tracks are not in bad shape......but the host railroads are not going to be particularly friendly.

My preference would be CSX from Chicago to Atlanta via Terre Haute, Evansville, Nashville, and Chattanooga. South of Atlanta on NS via Macon and then back to CSX at Jacksonville.

The other possibility where the tracks are still in decent shape would be CSX to Cincinnati and then NS south via Lexington and Chattanooga.

Going through Louisville isn't likely as the railroad between there and Indianapolis is only good for 30mph at best. I'd love to see a Chicago-Florida passenger train again but I'm not expecting that anytime soon.
