Agree. But the article also says that Amtrak has been known for somewhat less than quality customer service. This is very true. However I can't help feel for all those Amtrak personnel who give their very best as has been given as testimony in this forum. Also there has been testimony to those employees who have given their very least if not less than that. Yet I have read about employees demonstrating in front of Penn Sta.,NY and Wash. D.C. for want of a very long overdue contract. Since 1999? Poor employee performance probably is a result of low morale. But I also tend to believe that some workers' behaviors are just downright inexcusable,(i.e., shouldn't be working the job at all) plus it doesn't help those who are trying to do what they were hired to do. Didn't mean to hijack this thread with discussing employee performance, but all this can affect the type of financial support Amtrak needs.

Disagree,

Would a Hi Speed train be able to link Chicago Gary, South Bend Toledo and Detroit ? does Michigan have any type of Commuter Rails between its major cities ? Remember if people arrive by train there needs to be away to get around once they get off the train.

Agree. Year to year funding never allowed Amtrak to formulate any long range plans. An 80/20 split Fed/State would allow states to initiate rail expansion.

I say before and I say again:

My support of your corridor is contingent on your support of the LD grid.
