And what, exactly, was the car doing parked across the tracks, well off the pavement?

One report said the driver had become lost and turned onto the tracks. Then she got stuck. What seems really strange is that it took an officer to convince her to get out and a safe distance away, pronto. The car was thrown more than 100 yards.

It would be interesting to know how she is going to explain it to the car insurance folks...and if they'll cover her?

Explains why I observed the Crescent more than 7 hours late at Kanapolis, NC on Tuesday morning....and probably why there was only one locomotive on the train as well.

Video was impressive, hope we can get use of it for Operation Lifesaver.
Story said lady was lost and using cellphone. Big question is why it took police so long to convince her to get out of car ????

Nobody was hurt. Which engine? 6 ahead? 65/67/69, my lucky triplets?

Looks like 6 and 53

What puzzles me is that if there were so many police on the scene, then why couldn't NS be contacted and informed of the situation?
