Anyone know why the SWC lost two hours time between ABQ and Gallup, NM. Was only a few minutes late into ABQ but down 2 hrs + by time it reached Gallup and never made up much. After 9am by time it reached Fullerton this morning. Just curious like my cat Railroad Bill

Railroad Bill, inquiries like yours would be greatly helped if the train's number and date of origin were to be addressed. In this instance, I am completely at a loss to know which "SWC" you are addressing, although I think you are addressing a WB #3. Lest we forget, there are two such on the road at any time.

Train 2 out of LA into Beaumont, 10 minutes late. It's usually 2 hours late.

Sorry Mr. Norman, I was talking about Train #3 scheduled to arrive in Fullerton on May 18 at 6:30am. Left Chicago on May 16th. Thanks for any help you can provide. Railroad Bill

RRB, I must admit I don't know, but somebody likely will.
Incidentially, official Amtrak protocol identifies the train you are addressing as #3(16).

Possible the Chief hit another suicide attempt outside of Gallup. The delay time and location seems about right for this unfortunate and not too uncommon scenario.

Must be karma......can't have too many trains within 15 minutes of on-time all at once or the weight of the trains would cause the earth's orbit to become lopsided. An almost always on-time SWC running 2 hours late must be compensated by a nearly always late Sunset arriving close to the advertised......
OK.....yes, I'm kidding. Thanks for delivering the straight line Mr. GP!

And the Starlates are running on time. Could the earthquakes in China be related to this phenomena?
