Joe, the service doesn't start until February 6. Your queries were for January dates. Whoopsie!

I was skeptical so I looked. Lo and behold the train does seem to exist - at least in Amtrak's reservations computer - and if I remember correctly a fare came up for US$49 one way in late February.

The train, it should be noted, is being offered and operated by NJ Transit, and not Amtrak.

I look forward to riding this new service. And, for once, NJT is actually running something faster than it ran a half-century ago.

In October 1955 you could take the "Nellie Bly" from NYP to Atlantic City via Trenton and the Bordentown Secondary in exactly three hours. Return took a bit longer: 3:05.
