We are taking the CZ from Emeryville to Chicago, Departing July 27... Has the routing been changed for this date? Thanks, Passenger Rail Fan

As of a few moments ago, the website shows #6(27JUL) will serve both GJT and GSC. Therefore, it would appear at this time that Zephyr will be routed over the D&RGW.
Had the detour over the Overland Route been in effect that day, the website would have returned a "busteetoot" #3006 SLC-GJT-GSC.

No--for that specific date, the routing is normal. You will miss it by just a few days.

Two good answers for you in the posts immediately preceding mine, however, if you'd like more background, go here:
I've ridden 5 and 6 a few times. Historic Q (CB&Q Omaha to Denver) has a lot of lateral motion on it. Historic D&RGW is single track heavy coal roadage. Trust me, it needs every bit of help it can get. West Coast bound coal exits via Soldier Summit, Flyover Country and East/South Coast coal exits via Moffatt Tunnel. Coal tonnage is hard on rails, period.
Just a year ago, BNSF relaid the historic CB&Q from Murray Yard, North Kansas City to at least St Joseph, Missouri. They had just laid welded track and concrete ties in 1992, ahead of the Flood of 93, and again new ties after the flood. High tonnage track does need renewal.
