Torrential rain in Washington and huge upper Midwest snowfalls have affected Empire Builder, Coast Starlight, Cascades.
This has been brewing since Sunday.

Amtrak site Monday notes:
+ Empire Builder routes going east: Trains 8 and 28 originating on December 14 have been canceled.
+ Empire Builder routes going west: Trains 7 and 27 originating on December 14 have been canceled.
+ Coast Starlight (Seattle - Los Angeles) train + 11 (southbound) and train #14 (northbound) will originate and terminate in Portland.
+ Amtrak Cascades train service is suspended between Portland and Vancouver, BC.
