I'd mowed 2 acres in 96F degrees. It was 1:30. I needed to reward myself and cool off. A bike ride into Lafayette to chase trains would be fine. Amtrak would be there at 3:15. I'd go out to the yard and make up my mind where I'd catch her this time. I heard that a Kansas City Southern engine would be leaving going east after Amtrak passed going west. The 101 switch was where I wanted to be to catch the meet and check out the KCS engine. A business has moved in to the old warehouse at the 101 and there was too much commotion for me to be comfortable. I found a new place which is great.
