David: You need to visit Vegas. Most of the newer hotels all have everything controlled from your TV. Curtains, lights, music, temperature, room service, spa appointments, valet, "do not disturb" and "make up room" lights, you name it. it's been around for about 5 years now (in Vegas).

I hope to visit Las Vegas again someday...... and I hope to arrive there on a train.

As I have noted here whenever this thought arises, Angels-Meadows service would be an overnight success; something not lost to the chagrin of both BNSF and UP.

You and me both! The last time I rode the Desert Wind, I remember looking at the developing skyline of New York, New York. That was probably in 1996 if my guess is correct. Although my last trip to Vegas a few weeks ago was really something. I chartered a private jet, which was an amazing experience. Upon landing, they taxi'd over to the private terminal and when they opened up the door, a limo was waiting on the tarmac to take me to my hotel. It was incredible--much better than a train.

Yes, apparently we are more fond of our law enforcement staff in California than I realized. [Razz]

Heh heh....Anyone can do what I did. Just go to Facebook and "Like" a company called Jet Suite. They are a private jet company, and almost every evening between 4 and 6PM (California time) they will announce trips for sale that cost $499. These trips are "deadhead" moves as they need to position an airplane for another charter. When they announce a "Suite Deal", it will always be for the following day. You can not control the time or the routing---you just have to look at their FB page every afternoon to see if there is something that interests you. When I saw that I could fly SJC-LAS, I snagged it. The $499 covers the ENTIRE airplane, so you can either fly by yourself, or bring 2 to 3 friends (it seats 4). If I knew how to post pictures, I'd show you what it looks like inside and outside.

Wow! Pretty amazing! Was the limo really part of the deal or was it a detail you added to make us believe your story?? You had me thinking you must be a pretty rich dude!
