Overall, I think they did a good job on this. My only annoyance is that it apparently will only show trips/reservations made online. I did a lookup on other reservations I have (thru AGR and purchased at the Milwaukee Amtrak station), and the app reports they cannot be found.

Question; if you purchase air transportation through an authorized agent (Orbitz, Travelocity, whoever) is a record of that itinerary available through the airline's own system?

If so, just think of Guest Rewards as an authorized travel agency as I think you will find that outlines their relationship with Amtrak.

For purchases made directly from Amtrak, I'm surprised that the web site has no record unless that purchase was made through the website.

When I bought a United air ticket through Orbitz, I did eventually get a United confirmation number that I could look up on United's website.
I would think that if I had an Amtrak confirmation number, I should be able to do a look-up on the App for it. I would not necessarily assume the reservation would show up automatically.

We have found a very good app to keep us organized on our travels. Try Tripit. Once you're registered, you forward all your confirmation notices to them and almost instantly you receive a very useful and concise trip itinerary with all the pertinent info.

I was quite dubious at first, but it works well and we weren't inundated with extraneous emails/ads as a result.

Out of curiosity, I went to the regular Amtrak website & tried to bring up an AGR trip. I got an error message saying that trip had not been booked on the website, so it could not be displayed.
It is a valid trip & I am looking at the paper ticket, so I hope that someday they will be able to overcome this. It would be nice to have all Amtrak trips available in one place without having to go to a third party site.
I would have booked the AGR trip on the website, but because it involved sleeper accommodations, that option was not available.
Guess I'm just one of those insatiable tech consumers. Give me a little and I want it all! (disclaimer:I used to program hospital electronic billing software & my business analyst kept coming with with "enhancements")

I use Tripit as well. Not sure how their software "understands" the emails I forward to them, but it's always correct.

I made a purchase yesterday from my iPhone using the new app. I logged in first, and the program brought up my name, address and AGR number. BUT, when I purchased the ticket, it did not automatically add my senior discount, unlike when I purchase a ticket (while logged in) at the regular online site.
Still, overall, I like the app!
