Back in 2012, there was a thread here concerning the route of the EB to the new SPUD station -- I copied the page back then, but now can't get to it on Train Web (too old!). At that time, Mr. Geoff Mayo posted a map showing 2 possible routes between the former MSP station and the new SPUD station. For one route, it was stated that a backup move may be made on the route through Dale Street or Como, but he also suggested that the EB may still use the Murray Hill branch between the old and new stations. I last rode the EB in 2014, and the new station was in use, but I do not recall the train making a backup move. And since it was dark on the westbound train then, I could not field verify the route we were on. Can someone enlighten me concerning the correct current route between the old MSP station (Transfer Rd) and SPUD? I am redoing my railroad route maps with new software now.

RRRich, don’t know for sure but when we took the EB we stopped at the old station for servicing then down to the new one for passengers. So route seemed the same except for using the new station track.

As I understand, the route is MILW to the Minnesota Transfer, where it "transfers" to the Great Northern. No change in the routing arose account the station stop being moved to the SPUD.
