The Adirondack, which only began running again in April, has been suspended because of super-slow orders in Canada due to heat.

And now today & tomorrow (at least) rail service between Albany and NYC is canceled due to flooding.

Does anyone have more info?

CN is just using heat as an excuse to shut down the adirondack. really its CN's way of trying to force Amtrak/US govt/NY state govt to pay for upgrades to the track in order for the Adirondack to be able to go more than the 10 mph on the track north of the border as currently. not sure about service between albany and nyc but i heard some services being restored north of nyc. here in vermont the vermonter will be shut down for at least a few days, they hoping to have ethan allen running to burlington tomorrow but we will see.

Last I heard the Adirondack was going only as far north as Saratoga.
