Back when I was a kid, say 9yo and 1950, and I followed Major League Baseball far more so than I ever do today, there were sixteen teams each identified with their home city - eight in each League. Divisions; uh?

The sport's geography was confined to the Northeast and North Central regions, or Boston on the East and St. Louis on the South and West.

Needless to say, there was only one way the away teams got about - trains.

So, let's "Fast Forward" seventy three years to today. We now have two teams named for states - Texas and Arizona, with one near Dallas and the other near Phoenix, in the Series. Suffice To say, we of course KNOW they will travel between the cities on Amtrak's Sunset Limited [Eek!]

LOL, Gil - But like you, I followed MLB back in the day as a rabid Brooklyn Dodgers fan. I remember one afternoon at GCT (I was 13 years old and "railfanned" there a lot), I saw a rather downtrodden Dodger team boarding the Ohio State Limited for a road trip starting in Cincinnati during a season where things were not going well. The "boys of summer" that year (1954) turned out to be the hated NY Giants!
