If the Amtrak F40's are not being wanted by Amtrak, then Should ACE buy the unneeded f40's for commuter service? What do you think?

The F40's have a lot of miles on them; reliability could be a problem. Also, they probably don't meet the "clean air" and "noise" requirements like the newer engines do.

Even if they do not have too many miles on them, they at least have three important characteristics Top flashers, Bell, Horn and for some ditch lights. At one time ACE wanted to expand service possibly to Fresno Madera, and M[This message has been edited by BCAmtrak1 (edited 03-13-2001).]
