I'm trying to make some sub-topics for this category.

Someone on the MetroLink thread talked about an "Iron Triangle" trip over there, so I thought about one for over here as well. One could start out of Philadelphia, ride the former Reading RR Norristown Line (now the R-6 line) to Norristown, change to the former P&W RR Norristown line (now the Route 100 rail line) and ride that to 69th St. Terminal, and change to the Market-Frankford "Blue" line back to downtown. You will be riding two types of MU equipment plus brand-new elevated cars with AC drive.

RDG484,
Is this Philadelphia trip available weekdays only, or can it be done weekends?
30th Street station schedule board looked confusing as I wasn't familiar with all the routes.

The name "Iron Loop" or "Iron Circle" came from a Railfan & Railroad article about the Calif. Bay Area from a couple years ago. The author traveled a large loop with different carriers (Amtrak, ACE, CalTrain)

Yes, it can be done any day of the week. Go to www.septa.org for schedule information.
