I am beginning to put together route maps of commuter railroad lines, which will be in the same format as my AMTRAK route maps (already completed). I use DeLorme's 3-D Topo Quads programs to map the routes, and I get the info on station locations, etc., from timetables and web sites.

I am almost finished mapping all the Chicago area Metra routes, and am now beginning to do the southern California Metrolink routes. The first Metrolink route I am doing is the Ventura County line. According to the Metrolink web site, the location of the Montalvo (Ventura area) station is NOT on the main line which connects the other stations to downtown Los Angeles. The maps shown in the Metrolink web site are not the best, but I was wondering if the Montalvo trains have to back out of the station, then switch onto the main line to L.A. on the other side of the Ventura Freeway.

Can someone who has ridden on Metrolink fill me in? Thanks a lot..

Do you have a Link to these topo maps that are complete and a link to where the new topos' will go? I also had a suggestion for the next topo map, The San Bernardino line {SAN BERNARDINO-LA}, also Metrolink. [Smile] [Smile] [Smile] [Smile]
And could someone give me a link to THE TOPO QUAD PROGRAM.

Thank You Very Much [Smile]
