I'm planning a 2-man (Father/Son) trip to include some long-distance trains in Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, and Chile, in Oct. 2008.

I'd like to start and end in the capital city of Paraguay, where we'll fly home.

Specific trains, hotels, tourist attractions would be appreciated. Direct contact with suggestions to my e-mail above is encouraged.

Thanks.

Carl--

I'll send this by email, but I want to post it here as well. One of the best resources I have found on the net is the website of The Man in Seat 61. While his main focus is on Europe and Asia, he does have a page devoted to South America which should give you some ideas to get started. Have a great trip!
