Hello Railfans,

My name is Ed Greig and I'm currently recording a radio programme for the BBC in England centered around what is (by some measure at least) the longest railway journey in the world: around 17,852 km from Villa Real de Santa Antonio in Portugal to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam via the Trans Siberian. Good luck. A route summary and schedule would be useful for those who don't have time to read everything - I'm only interested in the train part, not the guide book style entries.

The second link works; the first link has a full stop terminating the link which is not a healthy Internet URL.

Thanks Geoff,

I realise that the content does not really yet cater to a discerning railfan. I wish I had found out more information about all the traction I've so far used. I do have photos of almost all of them, which I guess I could put in a seperate folder. I'll try and put up a seperate page with schedule and route information. What would you be most interested in? The times and stations, or information about the trains themselves?

I guess you're catering for all tastes, not just railfans. I'm not too bothered about the traction as such, just a rough itinerary like this:
1st March, 09:00, board London to Paris train
11:00, arrive Paris
Overnight Paris
2nd Match 10:15 board Orient Express to Istanbul (I wish!)
etc

What you mean is "the longest shortest route between any two railway stations on earth, entirely by rail" [Wink]
Considering your itinerary, it looks to me that you're taking quite a few detours as well though [Cool] Great pics! Keep'em coming!
