Are locomotives with Cat engines better? Like Norfolk Southern's TC10, is it really powerful?

Not always true... MK's 5000 hp MK5000C's have Cat engines in them, and UP and SP had nothing but problems with them. If you want a good reliable locomotive engine, EMD's are the way to go...I would take reliability over power, any day! Thats my $0.02 worth.
