There was a 12 wheel Locomotive parked and it didnt look old, a week ago when i was in Petaluma i didnt see it there, I wonder whats going on. It had a flat car behind it with some big Mechine, i have no idea what it was but it looked like some sort of Crain. What do you guys think?

It sounds like it might be some of the track repair equipment. Articles in newsmagazines (Flimsies West) mention repair work under way.

Threads on this subject may be found on both Alt. Press and t.o. boards, plus there is an NWP list at Elists that provides regular updates, too.
BTW, no P&SR rails left in communities mentioned except Petaluma, suspect you must be thinking NWP which is all over your territory.

The equiptment you have seen in petaluma is probably the blue leased unit to the NCR. They are doing extensive track repairs in the Petaluma area per the state monies they have recently received to get the line operational once again. Unsure the exact area where they are working but they're using Petaluma as staging area. Have seen the same unit and flatcar with lg. backhoe there for several weeks.

Hmm so the rails are going to be used again?? I Wonder who would use them. It was a Blue Loco with a flat car behind it with some big mechine. Sharbet arey you talking about Petaluma that is in the north bay of Cali? I Hope so, The Rails are perfectly fine and they look like they are in Fine condition for use. All the mechines for the tracks were parked behind the old dumpy Train station. Also just yesterday, on the same rail line, I Saw a new road construced that goes over the tracks and they installed Train signels too. That gave me a Thought that it means they are going to use them again. If they are not going to use the tracks then why would they even bother to install the singnels? So I Think i pretty much figured it out now, They are fixing the tracks and are going to make them operational again. Lol out side my town of the tracks, there are 5 old SP dirty locos that are being taken apart, The old High nose locos. But they are parked in another lane so they are not in the main track lane. Only question is, Whos going to use the tracks? Maybe BNSF or UP Or whoever is going to use them will.
