Last time I got over to the States, the trains on Tehachapi had a huge variety of motive power, both in paint schemes and locomotive types. This was in early 1998.

We plan on another visit early next year. Is there still much variety, or is it all C44's now?

Alan,

Not sure what all they run on Tehachapi these days but do you know about the Tehachapi rail cam? It takes snapshots everytime a train passes in front of the lens so you usually see quite a bit of motive power. Its url is http://www.trainorders.com/cameras/tehachapi/

Enjoy

Yeah, I have a look at the webcam from time to time, and what I see mostly is C44's!

Now, I like these machines, but also like variety! I did see a KCS unit on the cam the other day

I know Kevin's site well, we are both moderators at trainboard.com

I have his site bookmaked, as it covers my favourite trainwatching spots when I can get over to the States.
