I was recently reading that the Russians were working on building nuclear power trains. Nuclear power has supposedly been the savior of all of our energy problems. Many people have their own opinion on why we should and why we shouldn’t use nuclear power. I have heard that the fuel on nuclear submarines can last for years. If the Russians can actually make a working model, I am quite sure that other nations will follow. That is one thing about technology. No one has a monopoly on a particular technology for a very long time.

I guess this would be the return to steam technology. Instead of using coal to heat the water, nuclear power would heat the engine.

I was curious if you would ride such a train and what others thought about this.
