Ok.
Whats the deal it seems everyday more and more manufactures are going rtr. I personally like building my kits doing what I want to them, detailing and weathering them the way I want. How can we get our point across. That we what kits not ready to run that takes all the fun out of it. Several hobby shops I visit often have gone almost 90% rtr and the rest kits. I want my kits back. [Mad]

Unfortunately, the new money says "I want it now and ready to run."

That's what I've been told and it would seem that many of the newer model railroaders don't mind paying whatever it takes as long as they don't have to DO anything. The sales figures apparently bear that out.

I'm with you. Give me a kit and I'll detail as I see fit.

I have a big gripe with Athearn RTR passenger cars. They're glued shut, so you can't open them to make repairs, add lights, etc. I've also had trouble with some of them routinely derailing on curves for no apparent reason. I'll never buy them again.

I have nothing against RTR per se, but they should do it right or don't do it at all.
