I have one loop main line and has a turnout to the left connected to a right hand turnout that is a whole new loop around the original loop. I have lost power on the transition from the first turnout. what should I do? and yes I am new to modeling. Thanks in advance for the help.

Check for continuity, rail joiners are poor condutors of electricity, try a jumper wire from inter-loop to outer-loop. Think in terms of the rails being wires and watch for shorts anywhere the two may meet, especailly where the two turn-outs meet. How are the turn-out frogs live or dead, do they conduct electricity or not. Buy for yourself a nice Students mutimeter at the local hardware store and learn to use as you can then check for continuity and voltage etc. Model railroading involves learning all sorts of new and exciting skills. Good luck and have fun learning. One problem you will find with N scale is that the short wheel base pick-up on engines will gap over some dead spots and stall-out so watch how you gap rails for blocks etc, including your turn-outs.
