Originally posted by westpoint64: [QB] Hi, I'm Bud from Southwest Georgia (Albany area)... Railroads I model: MAIN TWO: 1.Seaboard Air Line/Alabama Southwestern (the ASW, a fictional SAL subsidiary) 2.Western Railway of Alabama (with locomotives and equipment from the Georgia Railroad and the Atlanta and West Point mixed in, just like the prototype often did TRACKAGE RIGHTS: Central of Georgia (I also run a couple of modern NS locomotives with 1950s-vintage C of G cabooses just for laughs) LOCALE: Supposed to be North Montgomery, Alabama area where the W of A and ASW/SAL have a "joint trackage agreement" Also take shells off the locomotives and put on different shells to change the whole thing over to PRR for a while when I get bored of all that...(hahahahaha) GAUGE: HO TIME PERIOD MODELLED:Roughly 1964 to 1967, with some weird, hilarious exceptions This isn't my first layout but it IS my first point-to-point one and it's very small. In fact, it fits inside the laundry room of my mobile home! (lol)It's basically what you might call a free standing shelf layout with a little bit more width on each end...I model two towns in central Alabama, one actual and the other fictional. The track is Code 100 and I, too, use plain old-fashioned block wiring (but have nothing against DCC). I try to feature a lot of run-down eyesore stuff on the layout for comedy value and try to include comedy on the trains too (and with prototypes like the West Point Route and the Seaboard, that isn't all that hard to do... Favorite Railroads/Prototype: Seaboard Air Line, Ga. Group (Ga. Railroad/Atlanta & West Point/W of A), Central of Georgia, NS, PRR, M-K-T, the HOG, FEC, BNSF, GAS&C, AB&C, SCL, Frisco, and many others, these just stand out as ultimate personal favorites at this time... Glad to be here...hope I can add a little humor to the "festivities" [/QB]
