Being, originally, from Lancaster, N.Y.(suburb of Buffalo), I grew-up through the 1950's/1960's/1970's, before getting tired of all that snow, and moving to the southside Virginia-North Carolina boarder, where, I reside, today. I remember my Grand-mother, traveling, from Danville,Va. via Southern RR, to Washington, or, perhaps, Philadelphia and catching a connecting train to Buffalo. As a child, I was in awe of the great steel monsters!!! Out on the platform areas of the Buffalo terminal, we watched trains, come and go. It all seems so surreal to me, and I suppose these expierences are what would fuel, my love for trains, from then-on!!!! My Dad, started me out, on American Flyer Steam Locomotives.(Sure wish I still had those BABIES!!!) Later-on, I turned to HO, because of space limitations. Oh well, I am now modeling a lot of Southern stuff, because I live here-now; but my childhood memories still fuel my Western NY heritage. So, who out there in this railroad community shares some of my, rail line interests??? I'd love to hear from, any!!! Thanks for being a part of this, great forum! Richard Schivley
