I am modeling a chessie and conrail system in the time period of the mid 70's. What I am trying to find out is are there any books published on when different freight cars were built. Specificly chessie and conrail cars,Generally all freight cars. Any help with this information would be appriciated.

In that era you can run most anything- Mostly 50 and 60 foot boxes, a few TOFC's, heavily weathered 40 footers, Thrall door cars, gons, and short covered hoppers.
If you want any more in depth info, just send me a note.
