My new layout calls for a dual track mainline . I had planned on using HO cork roadbed, but the test module looks like the tracks are too close together. What is the minimum recommended distance between main lines in N guage?? Happy Modeling!!

John, On tangent tracks 1" in N is considered minimum. on your curves anything from 1 3/8 to 1 1/2 depending on your curve radii. In N scale I wouldn't go much under a 13 inch radii if at all possible. Why are you using HO roadbed? Is it just leftover from your last pike? I would think the N scale roadbed would work a lot better.

Thanks Scott. Yeah the HO stuff is left over, but is about wide enough to run a dual line in N. With a bit of separation it will be fine. My single line branches will use N roadbed. Happy Modeling and Have a Great Thanksgiving!!
