I'm currently rehabbing old cars. On some of the Athearn HO cars, especially gondolas, the threading holding the screws for the wheelsets is stripped, and I cannot tighten the wheelsets. What can I go to remedy the problem?

Thanks for any help you could leave here or send to my email.

HI, with regards to loose screwws I have used Loctite in the scew holes. Mind it is the thick type and have had know problems. Some times if they are really bad I have used araldite. redrilled the holes and tapped out the holes to suit what ever screws I have in my box at the time. I have used this for fitting couplers as well.10-4 Jim

If there are some threads left in the hole,
try using cotton fibers as a fill from a Q-tip.

Another option is to glue a peice of round plastic in the hole, and then drill out another new hole in the plug for a new screw.
