Just inherited an HO scale model of a 1960's McDonalds Rest. The sign show "5 billion" sold and it is the old "Golden Arches" design. I have been told this is rather rare. Anybody have an details. Thanks

Look and see of the Life-Like brand is stamped anywhere on the parts. If it is, this building is indeed rare. In the 1960's Life-Like started making kits of the resturants. However they did not have permission from McDonalds to do so. McDonald's sued and won their trademark infringment case and orderd all kits recalled and all molds destroyed. Fortunatly many hobby shop ownerd did not comply. But now 40 years later. They are extreamly rare. The last one I saw still unassembled in the box, went for $175.00. For a kit that adjusted for inflation cost $8.75.
