I am putting a new addition. I am grabbing the basement section for my trains. They are O guage Lionel.

The room is U shaped, the left wall is 12 feet, the back is 19 feet and the right wall is 10 feet.

The table can be any size around the wall I want. I am a novice about anykind of layout and would appreciated any help offered. I have 5 nice engines with full complement of train cars.....

Thanks

First, if you don't know a good hobby shop, look up "HOBBIES" in the Yellow Pages. A good shop should have a copy of "TRACK PLANNING FOR REALISTIC OPERATION" by John Armstrong (Kamlbach). This is the 'bible' for track planning, whatever your scale/gauge. Even with Lionel, your rail empire should have a theme and a purpose - all this and much more is in the book !
