Good Question. Mochoism? Bravado? Ego? For me its becasue I like to show off. But on the same token, I don't try to shove it in anyones face iether.
As for whats on my roster, To many to remember off hand without going down to my model room to look.
But I can tell you, that it is nearly 60 locomotives, both steam and diesle, split nearly evenly between,Bachmann, Spectrum, Athearn, Walthers, and Life-Like. I also have several Singular examples from Mantua, GSB Rail Limited, MRC, and Rivorossi.
Freight cars? I dont know. Last time I counted it was over 400.

To be honest: I'm not trying to outdo anyone. I'm just curious to see what interesting equipment everyone has.
