What do owners of private equipment do now that Amtrak won’t haul them?

Mr. Black, while Amtrak has a new policy regsrding handling of private cars, it does not appear to be as draconian as a blanket "we don't handle them; period".

It appears that Amtrak will handle them on an end to end basis, and on some additional route segments where sufficient station time is already scheduled.

But those parties who desire to pick up or set out a car at, say, Huntington WV, are "kind of SOL".

Of course, "political pull" overrides all.

Gilbert,
I saw that Amtrak requires that handling a PV can’t interfere with the schedule; makes it kinda limiting, doesn’t it?
