quote:Less than a day since Tucker Carlson was ousted by Fox News, some conservative organizations have already publicly reached out to welcome him aboard. …
One America News Network, or OANN, a competitor vying for Fox News’ viewers, wrote an open invitation for Carlson on Twitter, saying, “Maybe Fox News’ loss could be OANN’s gain.” …
Glenn Beck, a former Fox News firebrand himself and is currently at conservative news outlet BlazeTV, lobbied for Carlson to join him. …
The offers weren’t limited to news organizations. Kevin Roberts, founder of the Heritage Foundation, tweeted the conservative think tank will “always be a home” for Carlson. …
Carlson certainly has his pick of possible new jobs. Newsmax is not among them, at present.
Vanity Fair quotes an anonymous source claiming that Rupert Murdoch had his son Lachlan fire Carlson over speaking at the Heritage Foundation’s half-century anniversary gala and calling for prayer…
quote:The answer, Carlson suggested, was prayer. “I have concluded it might be worth taking just 10 minutes out of your busy schedule to say a prayer for the future, and I hope you will,” he said.
“That stuff freaks Rupert out. He doesn’t like all the spiritual talk,” the source said. …
Rupert Murdoch was perhaps unnerved by Carlson’s messianism because it echoed the end-times worldview of Murdoch’s ex-fiancée Ann Lesley Smith, the source said. …

Well Mr. Helfner, here's an "art imitates life" analogy.
On the TV Show, "Succession" that airs on HoBO, the Murdoch like "titan", Logan Roy, of a fictional like Disney or Comcast media/entertainment empire, delegates a "weak kneed" son to "deliver the news" to a long standing "Lieutenant" that she was out.
Only difference, the "titan" dies before the deed is done, so the gal remains in her position.

Anonymous sources now claiming Newsmax has made a substantial offer to Carlson. Eric Bolling’s show has seen a large ratings increase in the wake of the Carson debacle. So far, Carlson has been doing some live podcasts that are available on Youtube.

Mr. Helfner, lest we forget this is Open Discussion, and, absent making a derogatory comment of any member here, Mr. Montana Jim's thought has same standing as anything you or I post here.
Honestly, I hold same thought as does Mr. Jim, and of these folk, be they Sean or Tucker, and on the other side, Alex and Rachael, are not journalists.
Rather they are entertainers. If they formulate societal views of anyone, so did Seinfeld.
Oh and "yeah rah rah"; Comcast came last week and changed out my cable box. Yipee, I can now get Newsmax!!!!

I would have thought a viewpoint on a self-moderating forum would be less shallow and more invective-free, is all.
I also figured it went without saying that cable news commentators never claimed to be journalists; some of them emphasize that from time to time. (Rachel Maddow never did FWICS; her station, though, once stated it for her and to the effect that she was an entertainer of sorts.)

Related of sorts to this topic is how being an entertainer is becoming more of a background for a politician, and could easily some day replace a law degree as "the ticket".
Cases in point; who at present is likely the most popular politician on this planet?
I'd dare say Zelensky. What's his background? Entertainment.
Over here, how else can Trump's rise from having never held elected office to the highest one in the land, if not the world, be explained?
