Well. This is a lively board.
How deep was the snow that caused the breakage? Did you strip out a drive gear?
I'm curious how others would deal with this problem. Just not run? Or pre-sweep the track to knock out the heavy drifts? I wouldn't know since we don't get snow and my outdoor layout is still in the 'conceptual' stage.

The snow had ice under it, and in the ice was a pile of leaves. So I don't think any engine was going to move it. Snow was only 2 inches deep. The gear on Axel split. I bought a BBT drive unit to repair the engine. The is the first breakage I have had while plowing the RR.
