On April 23 at about 3:15 pm, i noticed a up train waiting on a siding just outside of Oroville, CA on the ex. Western Pacific Feather River Route. Nothing weird, but i caught out of the corner of my eye, a BNSF train heading toward the UP train. What was interesting was the consist of cars behind the engines, 7 passenger cars. The BNSF train, lead by 2 AC4400's (heritage I)(I believe), was pulling 7 passenger cars. i believe they were ex. Santa Fe cars. This was an amazing sight to see on the Union Pacific Mainline.

Steve,
The train you saw was the last seven fluted side passenger cars ATSF owned before the merger. I think they are still stored in San Bernadino shops. (thats was the last place I saw them a few years ago) That train is only for officials and inspections.
And I am sure you know that BNSF has trackage rights over the UP to the Keddie wye before going on to the highline.
