I just heard of 2 eastbound Altamont Pass freights ( Northern California) on the radio.
The UP 4102 shows a destination of Marion AR meaning this should be the regular IOAMN that usually runs over Altamont to the Feather River Canyon. Second I heard the UP 6314 get a track permit from Elmhurst to CP Strong to
go out the(WP)Oakland Sub. This UP 6314 shows a destination of Lathrop CA. I wonder what train this could be with a destination of Lathrop?? UP DS 58 just said the 6314 will run ahead of the UP 4102 over the pass.
Now as I write this, UP DS 58 is calling the UP 6314 the IOAHO.
It sure is strange for the IOAHO to show a destination of Lathrop and not
Houston TX as it usually does!

The Coast Line trains that I have so far are these two:
The SP 5412 and the SP 8645 are on the ILCOA by San Lucas(San Ardo area) as of 1232PM on Friday 3-16.
The QRVMN is running south with the UP 6016 by Alvarado on the Mulford Line at 1226 PM .

I hope the Altamont Pass railfans see those Altamont trains today!

In the SF Bay area, Amtrak uses 160.800 from West Sacramento to Oakland Yard.
From Oakland to Salinas the channel is 160.320.
Salinas to San Luis Obispo is on 160.875.
In San Jose Amtrak will sometimes switch over to the Caltrain Dispatcher on 160.815.
Caltrain dispatches the railroad in San Jose from CP Coast to CP Michael(just south of Tamien station).
The ACE trains use 160.815 from San Jose to CP Coast (Santa Clara depot).
160.320 From CP Coast to Wyche Siding (Lathrop CA area just south of Stockton).
Wyche-Lathrop to Stockton is on 160.230.
In Stockton the ACE train may switch to the BNSF channel of 160.650 . The BNSF controls the interlocking that is about half of a mile south of the ACE Stockton platform.
In the Stockton Yard look for ACE on the standard UP Yard channel of 160.680.

If you purchase an Altamont Press Railfan Timetable, you can find the radio channel that is used in your area anywhere in the Western USA. You can find all that wonderful info in this book when you learn what subdivision your local railroad is on.
This Altamont Press Railfan Timetable is by far the BEST railroad radio guide available!
Altamont Press is located on the web at http://altamontpress.com

I hope this info answers your questions!
