Golden Gate Railroad Museum steam engine 2472 will operate two round trip test runs from San Francisco to San Jose and back on March 16 as part of a qualification tests for Caltrain operations. The qualifications test runs are preliminary to the locomotive being used for a public excursion on March 30.
The following TENTATIVE time table is furnished for the benefit to
railfans, photographers, and the general public who wish to see this
famous locomotive in operation. This schedule represents the GGRM's MOST optimist plans and should only be used as a general guide. Scheduling, dispatching and potential mechanical issues can cause delays. Remember, this is a test run and we choose to extend inspection and service times at authorized stops.
We are not taking on general passengers. Only those authorized by GGRM and Caltrain will be onboard.
If railfans have a radio scanner, they can tune to the Caltrain
frequency (160.815) to check our progress.
