For those of you who watch BNSF, keep an eye out for run-through power from CSX and NS. I've seen a lot of it in the past few weeks including a 3 unit consist that had a CSX/Conrail/NS lashup. I rode into LA on Amtrak last Thursday and saw several CSX units leaving LA on freights as well as NS units in the Commerce facility.

This is really nothing new for BNSF or the old Santa Fe. Go to Barstow to really see some foreign locos. Heck even saw an Alaska geep there once. They normally get cut off there & returned east but every once in awhile they get further west. Image the ports traffic has a little to do w/ so many foreign locos getting into LA lately.

Yeah, but I don't often get out to Barstow. I usually only see what makes it into LA and Orange County.

We get BNSF, SP and even a couple of UP engines down here in Central Florida fairly often.

I have not been out to the BNSF lately, but yesterday I saw an eastbound UP double stack in Benson, AZ, with four UP units + one NS and one CSX unit in the lead.
When they opened the Alameda Corridor in So Cal, the brochure they issued showed a CSX engine on the cover!

Up here in Conn we rarely see any foreign units, However, when you get onto the Boston and Albany Line you will find all kinds of Foreign power going all the way to Boston and then returning usually on the next train heading westbound. We have seen UP, BNSF and SP. For us out here that is a real treat. Going the other way when I went to vegas and rail fanned DAggett, it was a nice sight to see Conrail units in the consist. It made me feel like I was home

We got pics of the NFS at Commerce. I like NFS, they look good. I hear they're modifying their horse logo-anyone know if there's a special reason why they use a horse or is it just because horses are swift and fast and awesome...?(im a horse nut as well as railfan) We've seen a couple KCS, few CSX....i wonder what's next!

Coach34135, I don't know the history of the NS horse logo, but the NS (ex-Southern) runs in horse territory (Kentucky Derby?) and they advertise some freight service as "Thoroughbred Service". MP
