I am a South Korean, working for Koran National Railroad(KNR). Recently I visited Kansas city southern railroad(KCS) for a week. They treated us(3 persons)very well, They are very hard working, kind, and get their job done very well. I am deeply impressed by their works. I hadn't known Ameican freight train business before. But after visiting the Kcs I came to know it very well. This will be a big help for KNR to do business with North Korean, China and Russia. The Kcs people are willing to help us and I am very grateful for them. I am sure that KCS will be a great company!!!

KCS was recently trying to expand into Mexico, but it looks like that will not happen now.

They own TFM don't they? That's in Mexico.

KCS owns the 46.6 % of TFM shares in Mexico now. They purchased it from Mexican government. On October it will increase its share holding to 49%.

I heard something about shareholders rejecting a vote. KCS will retain partial ownership of the Mexican line, but might not be able to go over the 50% mark.

Mr Lee,
I apologize that I never saw your thank you post. I just did a search here on your name, and caught that. You are indeed most welcome.
I'm glad your research is proving successful.
More importantly, I hope KCS introduced you to our local cuisine: Kansas City Barbecue

Dear PullmanCo
I knew that Kansas city had a big slaughter house before. I tasted steak in one restaurant in Kansas city this summer. But I never had a chance to try Kansas City Barbecue. Some time in the future I will visit there again and taste it. Thank you for your advice.
