I am angling for some photo ops down near the port area. This is a bustling area with the harbor line and UP and so on. thanks in advance.

Think long range telephoto. Port areas are very cautions about wanderers. Drive around the public roads in the vicinity, but be wary of the container trucks. Think of "squashed like a bug" and try to not be the bug. In general wnadering around in a port area is about as safe as being a mouse in the cat lady's livingroom. you could find also yourself subject to arrest.

There may be some sort of public relations office you could contact. If you really want to get in, you may be able to get somewhere through them, but usually if you do not have a sound business reason to be there you will not be allowed inside the gates.
