Just wondering if anyone can answer this question: I like to bring up both the Trains Magazine Rochelle, Ill. web cam and the Mendota, Ill. depot web cam on my computer screen to watch while I work.

I just recently found and started viewing the Mendota cam. As this is the BNSF's Chicago-Denver main line, I was expected a great deal more tain traffic. The BNSF's Chicago-Twin Cities line across the diamonds at Rochelle is quite busy. The line through Mendota seems downright dead by comparison.

Has there been a reduction in traffic on the Chicago-Denver route, or has traffic always been this light? Or is there another set of tracks out of camera range in Mendota that the through freights use? Having lived most of my life in a town on the UP's Chicago-Denver line, with so many trains all the time, I admit I may be spoiled, but I am surprised there's not more traffic past the Mendota cam.

Any response?

you wouldn't happen to have the URL's for those cams, would you?
