According to Wayner in 1979, 1600-1609 were 96 seat coach-bar cars built by PS for the Erie-Lackawanna in 1971.
Delivered at the same time were 104 seat cab cars (1500-1523) and 108 seat coaches (1700-1770)
In 1973, PS delivered an additional 11 cab cars and 39 coaches.
