I saw a new trailer on a mod today it was a CHEP. For those of you who don't know CHEP is a pallet rental company. We have at any given time 500-1000 of their pallets and can't get rid of them. (They lose track???) Hope they don't lose this.

Got it. I've seen some of those, with the parts that resemble bobtail truck hitches for trailers and corner tie downs for containers, but don't recall ever seeing CHEP. Maybe pallets are like the US Postal Service corrugated letter containers...not worth tracking down by the owner even though they are "loaned"

part of the problem with these pallets is that they are made to specifications. they are as you can see a very beefy pallet. the reson that they are popular is that the industry is trying and succeeding very well in making standard pallet shapes. some of the big compies like home depot will in fact only accept items from vendors that are shipped on them. I happen to ship to home depot and we received a memo to that effect that anything shipped to them on a pallet must be a chap pallet otherwise they would not accept the shipment
